Ick Medication not staying blue ?

I Have ick in my 33 gal tank i picked up some ick medication (super ick cure by API) and when i treated the water my water tuned bright blue..i did take the carbon out yes. anyways i went out to watch the hockey game and when i came back my water was not blue anymore. is this normal?
